Food Booth Weekend Is Here!

Food Booth Weekend and the Biltmore Village Arts and Crafts Fair is upon us. Our grounds will be transformed the weekend of August 7-8, 2010 with over a hundred artists from all over the Southeast and hundreds of buyers. Room In The Inn Arrives in August!

RITI returns to All Souls the week of August 22 for its week run in Zabriskie Hall. Usually, more than 60 parishioners are needed to help provide the dinner meals, bag lunches each day, and overnight “innkeepers”, but there are other ways to lend a hand: bringing small useful gifts such as stationery, along with stamps and envelopes or note cards; flowers for the dinner table; packages of soaps, shampoos, and lotions; money donations to purchase breakfast supplies during the week; or other things you might think of.

The poster sign-up sheet will be available at services beginning in July, but you can also contact Susan and Mike Stevenson at 254-5227 or  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.

Volunteers were quickly found and weekly teams were organized to cut the grass, trim the weeds, blow the leaves, and do other chores around the cathedral.

many things at once. She brings this efficiency to All Souls where she volunteers

as parish nurse, assistant to the dean, principal server, crucifer/acolyte and all-

around problem solver. She is funny and quick-witted and accomplishes the

difficult immediately.

Youths’ Green Eggs and Jam go a long way

A friend asked me the other day if I thought when we were teenagers, we were as connected as young people are now to their communities through tutoring, food drives, fundraisers and volunteer projects designed to help other people.

I told her I was pretty sure we weren’t. We both were impressed with the commitment we see around us now.
